Propellers Exported by NGC to Malaysia Pass FMEA and Dynamic Positioning Testing
Recently, the controllable pitch propeller system and the fore and aft side thrusters produced by NGC Marine Group鈥檚 subsidiary - Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., (鈥淣GC Marine鈥 below) for the 61.8-meter AHTS of a Malaysian customer successfully passed sea trials, the FMEA test and dynamic positioning sea trials. This dynamic propulsion system is the first set of controllable pitch propeller propulsion systems exported by NGC Marine to Malaysia, and the success of the sea trials marks the successful entry of NGC products into the Malaysian offshore boat market, further expanding the market of NGC products to Southeast Asia.The 61.8-meter AHTS is a typical anchor handling tug supply engineering vessel. With a heavy draught of 4.5 M, this vessel is designed with double engines and propellers and equipped with 2 fore side thrusters and 1 aft side thruster. With a high degree of automation, it must satisfy the requirements of DP2 and FMEA. The design requirements incorporated into this project include the demand that under conditions of standard sea conditions and a full load 100% MCR, the vessel can steer at the speed of 13 knots and the bollard pull is up to 70 tons. NGC Main Propulsion System Tested successfully During Trial Voyage of San Sha 1 Hao Traffic Supply Ship
On December 3, the main controllable pitch propeller system and tunnel thruster provided by subsidiary of NGC Marine Group-Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co, Ltd(NGC Marine) for 鈥淪anSha1 Hao鈥 traffic supply ship were tested successfully during sea trail. The ship will launch its maiden voyage on New Year's Day of 2015.The 鈥淪anSha 1 Hao鈥 traffic supply ship is 120m long and 20m wide, with displacement of 7800T, and maximum navigational speed of 19 knots. This ship is a ro-ro passenger ship which can carry passengers, ro-ro vehicles, and container trailers. The voyage from the Hainan Island to Sansha is reduced to 8 or 9 hours from an original 15 or 16 hours, and cargo capacity is increased 9-fold as compared to that of 鈥淨iongsha No.3鈥. This ship is an important project following establishment of Sansha City. This ship sials between Hainan Island and Sansha Yongxing Island, navigating from opposite directions of 鈥淨iongsha No.3鈥, and can provide more convenience for the military and public on Sansha Yongxing Island, which makes the vessels essential for solving the difficulties of traffic and supply between Hainan Island and Sansha Yongxing Island.The ship鈥檚 propulsion system is configured with twin screws. The propeller shaft utilizes a three-bearing support structure, and the whole length of the shafts reach upwards of 23m. Successful Sea Trial for NGC Lifting Gearbox on Ocean Platform
Complete success was achieved recently in sea trials and 90cm full-distance lifting test for the platform lifting gearbox manufactured by NGC Gears Group subsidiary Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment to be matched with 90m self-elevating platforms 鈥淒e-sail No.2 DSME1202鈥 and 鈥淒e-sail No.3 DSME1203鈥 supplied by Tianjing De-sail Machinery Equipment. The platform lifting gearbox was successfully delivered in Qingdao and Huludao. DSME1202 and DSME1203 living platforms are supported by four column-shaped spud legs. Every spud leg was supported and lifted by 7 pairs of 14 lifting gearboxes. This platform marks the first self-elevating platform with complete intellectual property rights and dynamic positioning function in China, achieving internationally advanced levels.This 90m marine self-elevating platform is a self-elevating navigational aid platform applied to offshore oilfields. It can provide offshore workover rigs and ocean engineering construction service, and is equipped with functional areas such as living quarters. The platform is a square ship body, and the total length of the four spud legs is approximately 90m. The total length of the ship body is 78.8m, with molded length of 63.6m. The First Successful Domestic Test Performed by NGC Marine for PTI Clutch of Ocean Surveillance Ship Gearboxes
Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (NGC Marine) successfully performed benchmark testing for the soft engagement performance of the PTI clutch for the main propulsion gearbox of a large-sized ocean surveillance ship for the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) on April 25, 2014. The marine main propulsion gearbox with PTI functions, characterized by its fuel savings, higher efficiency and higher navigation safety and reliability etc., can be used for free switching of motor or diesel engine as its power source, showing the advanced vessel propulsion mode. The PTI clutch is engaged at a rated speed (1500rpm for this project) and therefore the conditions are extremely severe. During the engagement, clutch disks can slip for a long period of time and lead to high temperature. This clutch is an important part for ensuring PTI functions. Considering the shock during clutch engagement, NGC Marine has developed 鈥淗ydraulic- electric鈥 control modules, realizing soft engagement and adjustable engagement time. A high propeller rotary inertia and load under real ship simulations have been adopted for this test. Problems such as test benchmark capacity limits and high-speed data collection etc. have been solved by company management and technical support, and finally the test was successfully performed.
